Utah Wedding Cakes -- Presents and Calla Lilies

Last week I had 2 wedding cake orders, one was a castle cake and I forgot to take a picture of it, but here is the other one. I loved making this cake. I made the bow out of gumpaste and painted it with gold luster dust, and the calla lilies are all hand made from gumpaste.

Dummies

Did you rent your wedding dress? Or the tux? Or any of the other things you use for a wedding but can't always afford to buy and keep? Well, why not rent a cake?
Perfect for brides on a tight budget who aren't worried about feeding cake to their guests and just want a cake for display. To order a custom made fake cake can cost almost as much as a real cake, but what if you just picked one out of a catalog. Well, soon you can do just that.
Over the next few months I will be making a selection of Dummy Cakes. I'm making these mostly for photos and advertising, but I'm going to offer them to you for rent!
Rental fees will be $50 + a $100 refundable deposit when returned the day following the wedding in it's original condition.

So check back often to see what cakes will be available! And for a limited time, if your interested in renting a cake, send me a picture of a cake you love and I'll be selecting a few to make to add to my collection. maybe I'll pick yours :)

**ICES Convention Special**

ICES, the International Cake Exploration Society, puts on a Convention every year. All the top names in cake designing are there teaching classes and giving demonstrations. I've never been able to go before, but it sounds amazing. Much like a glorified version of the Cake Camp I went to last year in Vegas. This year I'd hoped to go to camp again but instead I got to spend my summer loving on my new baby.
But next summer he'll be big enough to stay home with Daddy so ICES Convention here I come! Only problem is that I need to raise a lot of $ to be able to go.

So until then I will be giving some killer deals on cakes. If you or someone you know is having a wedding pass the word. Call me today to set up you design consultation and taste some of my delicious flavors.

And if you have a big heart and don't need a cake but just want to see my dream come true you can click on the link to the right that says "Make a payment" and donate to my Convention Fund.

Utah Childrens Birthday Cakes - First Birthday Jungle Cake

r

Happy First birthday King Nicolai!
-A few months ago I was asked to make a birthday cake for a little boy turning one. His Mom sent me a picture of his party invitations ,that she designed, and wanted to know if I could match the cake to the invites. Her invited were adorable and it was fun to be able to make a cake to go with them.
-I made the cake and matching smash cake, the cupcakes were done by someone else.

Utah Wedding Cakes --Martha

This cake is covered in fondant pleats and ribbon lilies. It was a hard one to do, I think I stripped off the fondant 3 times before I got it to look the way I wanted, but I was really happy with the end result, even if I spent 3x as much time on it than I'd planned :) I love getting to do cakes like this that are different than the norm. So brides bring me your fun ideas! There are so many things that can be done with fondant, lets make you a fabulous cake too!

Utah Wedding Cakes -- Chocolate Swirl

Loved making this cake! It was a new technique for me with the fondant swirl inlay on the chocolate fondant, but it was so much easier to do than I had imagined and I was really happy with how it turned out. The top is open and filled with chocolate shavings.

Utah Wedding Cakes -- Jessica

Jessica came to me with a a file dedicated just to her cake. She had the colors and pictures of ideas she liked, and was so excited about it. Working with her was a blast. I love when brides get so involved in the designing, it's so much fun to be able to work together and create a cake that is just what she is imagining.

Utah Kids Party Cakes -- Princess Cakes

This cake was for a pretty little 3 year old princess named Natalie. The wand, crown, and all the stars are made from gumpaste. Having 3 little boys of my own I don't get to make very many little girl cakes so this one was a lot of fun.

Utah Kids Party Cakes -- Transformer Cakes

Bumblebee Cake - this was done for my sons 5th birthday earlier in the year. His friends all thought it was pretty cool.

Optimus Prime Cake - this was done for a 6th birthday party. The fondant gave me a few issues but in the end it turned out great. I love doing birthday cake for kids. They always get so excited.

Utah Wedding Cakes -- Shells and Pearls

Remember this cake? This was the very first wedding cake I ever made. When we had our consult the bride brought me a picture of a beautiful Martha Stewart cake and I was scared to death just hoping I would be able to pull it off. Looking back now it's so funny to think about how stressed I was with every single detail and how many hours I spent rolling out each individual pearl by hand. Soon after I learned that they make molds that can make a string of pearls just like those!
Each square cake is covered in ivory fondant and has hand made pearls and chocolate shells. Then the cakes are sprinkled with sanding sugar to resemble real sand. I'll never forget how brave this bride was trusting her wedding cake to a beginning decorator. Thank you Kristine for believing in me and giving me a chance! I was beyond excited when we got it all set up and it turned out so beautifully and the bride loved it. This really is the best job ever.

Utah Wedding Cakes -- Chocolate and Ivory

This cake was designed by the bride herself. She knew exactly what she wanted and had sketched it all out before we even met. The flowers are all made from chocolate clay and the cake is covered in ivory and chocolate fondants. Each flower and pearl were made by hand. It was such a beautiful and unique cake.

**Utah Baby Shower Cakes**

Who doesn't love a new baby? Especially when you can celebrate with a delicious cake with a cute chubby gumpaste baby on top?

Utah Wedding Cakes -- Stephanie

This cake was so fun to make!! It took hours and hours rolling out each piece of the lattice by hand and placing on the cake, but it was so worth it! One of my favorites to date by far.

Utah Wedding Cakes -- Chocolate

Here is the Wedding Cake from the same wedding as below. I think I'd like it without the bow better, but it still turned out beautiful. Congrats again to Spencer and Mara!!!

Utah Wedding Cakes -- BYU Grooms Cake

In August my husbands cousin got married and I had the honor of making the cakes. His family wanted to surprise him with a BYU grooms cake since he is a huge fan. So I made him a BYU Football Helmet.

Utah Wedding Cakes -- White Chocolate Petals

This cake was done for Janae, she was the funnest bride to work with. I loved meeting with her and her fiance to plan the perfect cake for her wedding. The wedding cake flavor is Turtle Cheesecake and it is covered in white chocolate petals. The reception was held at the Springville Arts Museum and it was gorgeous! Thanks for letting me be a part of your special day Janae!
